Area Law Enforcement
Roughly fifty automobiles have been marked with what seems to be human blood in the Germany's municipality of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.
Automobiles, exterior walls and postal boxes were defaced, sometimes with prohibited symbols, they announced in a statement.
Law enforcement state they were alerted late on Wednesday, when a individual observed that a automobile in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been smeared with a red-colored liquid.
The liquid had been placed in the form of a Nazi symbol, they added.
Law enforcement then discovered multiple other marked automobiles and residential walls in the surrounding area.
These symbols are illegal in Germany under legislation outlawing the public display of symbols from the Nazi era.
Officials report preliminary tests indicate the fluid was most likely human bodily fluid.
"Currently there is no lead as to where it came from; authorities are presently not cognizant of any physical harm in relation with the event," they added.
City officials announced they were trying "to solve the case" and have appealed to the public for details.
A senior representative stated the incident rendered him speechless and had to be solved quickly.
"This incident strikes at the center of Hanau and revives the pain of the right-wing terrorist attack five years ago," he stated on online, mentioning the death of nine people by a gunman aiming at individuals of foreign heritage in February 2020.
