19 of Daniil Medvedev's 21 victories have been earned on hardcourt
A comeback Medvedev secured his initial trophy for nearly 30 months with a win over opponent Moutet in the tournament championship match.
The athlete, a ex- top-ranked player, has experienced a challenging year, managing just one match at the major tournaments and experiencing a difficult moment at the New York tournament.
The player's unpredictability on the professional circuit - and issues with his serving in especial - resulted in him falling of the top ten and ultimately parting ways with long-term coach Gilles Cervara.
Now working with his coach and Goetzke, Medvedev has gradually advanced in the past month - peaking in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over challenger Moutet.
This marks his maiden title after the Rome competition and first on a hard surface after spring of the previous year.
Success also indicates he has achieved twenty-one titles at 21 various events.
"This marks the first occasion I have attended a event with my children at once, so to win a title is especially meaningful," stated ranked player Daniil Medvedev.
"This title is in honour of my second daughter my daughter, because the initial championship I won when my first daughter Alisa was delivered was for her."
The tennis star, the former major winner, had failed in his past six finals, featuring in Halle in the past months.
Medvedev's retrieving play style and regular reactions on the tennis court had caused commentators to question if his skill to perform at the elite level was over.
But the player has made changes in the past month, making an effort to approach the net and play positively, supported by an enhanced service.
The champion fought back from a break down in the opening set against the challenging opponent, securing four of the concluding five games to go ahead.
Both players swapped service breaks in the second set before Moutet, striving for his maiden tour championship, seized the initiative to push for a third set.
Moutet rescued four initial break points in a tight final set before Medvedev won the break to 15 to serve for the match.
Appropriately, the winner secured the title with a point at the net, with his opponent incapable to manage a shot after over two and a half hours.
